THE MASKING CULTURE AND IMPEDING MINDS

They say it will save our lives, but it is indirectly killing our brain and creating spiritual separation. In a situation where you are in one room with someone you may not know very well and will not be able to recognize outside the workplace, then something is wrong. We should be scared! It is trending, but who knows where it would lead us. I have kept quiet about it while observing what is going on. “This mask thing is something else.” a friend said to me. Yes, there is something about it that needs to be said not that there is anything to be done about it. Because from the look of things there is nothing to do about it unless by faith people choose to do away with it. But people of faith are in a real war with the health industry, politicians, and the world at large. Since I do not want to go into politics because I am not one and I do not understand it, I will desist from addressing this matter politically. I am not in the health industry, and I cannot address any health issues since I also depend on the medical personals foresight, insight, and practice to tell me what to do concerning the trending matter of our health. As a faith person that I am, the matter becomes too ambiguous to discuss religiously or theologically. So, I do not intend to talk prophesies, doctrine, and religion here. I just want to make my observations public may be someone will identify with it and pray for a great change better than this paradigm to come forth!
For one year I have worked with people I cannot recognize in the street outside the workplace. Maybe I am being myopic or shortsighted or maybe that part of brain that causes physical recognition of faces is malfunctioning. Not at all because I recognize the people I see. Once at workplace, we could interact very well but once outside the facility I cannot for sure recognize these co-workers even right there in the parking lots. I could only know them by their voices and other physical appearances and mannerisms. Apart from these, if they keep quiet, I will just pass them by without recognizing them because their masks were off. I say what a world!  Sometimes I ask myself why this, am I the only one who feels this way or do others notice the same thing? This is a new thing in the society; that you could be with the same person so physically near and reaching, yet so physically far and unrecognizable. This is mind boggling.
In communication we understand that speeches could be fully understood via physical sign language and body language even when there was no voice.
Today because of face mask we can no longer know the physical expressions which go a long way to help us understand the unsaid intensions of the communicators. Somebody will be saying things which could be a joke however because we do not see the smile on the lips or the eyes of that person due to the coverings, we take the person so serious and make a negative conclusion about that person especially if we just knew the person in the “mask” not before the “mask”.
You could be in a room with someone who is dubious without knowing, and after an evil perpetration you are very handicapped in recognizing that person. This is also very dangerous because we could be harboring a terrorist unaware and will never know or recognize the one.

There is a very good story to back up my decrying of the mask society.
(THE STORY WILL COME UP IN THE NEXT POST. It is about Jennie and me, my friend at work)
