How to Behave at the Table for Credibility and Protection

Be cautious and apply wisdom in everything one does. Everyone has the freedom to do whatever one wishes and wants to do with one's life, however one may get into real trouble exercising such freedom and rights. The generation of young people today are carried away by the law of "rights" and many women are wrapped up in the darkness of "freedom and equality" that they lost the virtue of respect, dignity, and motherhood. Furthermore, citizens and subjects of the ruling council due to corruption and oppression have lost respect for the office of the land and talk frivolously against the man on the seat there by dishonoring the seat and many are hurt by this.

Today the Christian Kingdom of freedom of worship and church planting have produced many unemployed, poverty stricken, untrained, unconverted, and Holy Ghost deprived "men and women of god" all over the streets and webs. These categories of preachers, apostles, teachers, prophets, and seers are characterized opportunity seekers. They preach, teach, and condone in compromise or silence every unsound behaviors and apostasies. They do not care who invited them for diner, the thought of eating and the smell of the rich meal compel them to honor such invitations and after having their fills they prophesy comfort and prosperity in the face of calamity and doom. They encourage the thief and pray for the fraud stars in exchange for their tithe and offering. They accept houses to stop them from preaching sound doctrines. These also would accept extravagant gifts from the oppressors to harness the believers to vote them into office at the detriment of the voters, children of the land and of the Almighty God. These are the people King Solomon is viewing when he spoke to his son, Proverbs 23: 1-3,

"When you sit down to eat with a ruler, consider carefully what is before you; and put a knife to your throat if you are a man given to appetite. Do not desire his delicacies, for they are deceptive food."

This passage should help one to reflect on every action one is obliged to take. Every dining, every get together, every celebration and every partying has a purpose and that purpose is only known to the one who invited other/others. So, when one is privileged to be invited to such occasions; one must control oneself and view everything through the eyes of a needle.

How to behave as a good quest

1. It is a privilege for one to be invited to eat and dine with the rich, friends, family members, acquaintances or even employers.

2. Honor the invitation but consider why one is invited and do not hijack it for gain against the host

3. When one is at the table one should be careful what one says and how one says it in case someone starts a conversation. Sometimes, the host or another quest might direct a question towards one, one should answer such questions politely and respectfully and after that keep quiet. If one does not know the answer, one should not hesitate to tell them that one does not understand it and does not have any answer to it. It is better to not say anything than to say out of point or tell tales that are not related. One should not start praising the food and forget one’s table manners.

4.One must not eat too much. One should prepare self before leaving home. If one is prone to over- eating, the reasonable thing to do is to eat very well at home before setting out for the party or diner.

5. One should behave well and watch others as well as the countenance of one’s host.

6. One must control one’s appetite and do not let the delicacies of food to make one to lose one’s pin, apply control, if possible, one should pretend to be full. Go for lighter meals.

Do not speak condemnatory against anyone one does not know who is listening behind the curtain, doors, or walls. The consequences may be too big for one to handle and one will not remember how the food tasted!

There are changes that are very good, Internet and technology are good paradigm changes in this generation however the detrimental changes that one observe today in the younger generations, men and women include moral laxity, disrespect and lack of wisdom in eating, drinking, sex etc. Anyone who wants to do well must learn to handle all these and still pass as a great person.
