Christians are in the World
Sometimes Christians tend to separate themselves from this world as if
God created a separate world for them to live in. 'This is completely wrong', you may think considering the fact that Jesus Himself said, "You are from beneath; I am from
above. You are of this world; I am not of this world." John8: 23
(NKJV)
Jesus said, "If you were of this world, the world
would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out
of the world, therefore the world hates you." John15: 19; 17:14
(NKJV)
This is
the main claim for a Christian to say that he/she is not in the world. Jesus
chose one and removes the one from the world not literarily but in deed and in
spirit. What it means is that even though you, a Christian, is living in
everything similar to everyone else, your mind set is different, your actions
are different and your hope for eternity is different from those who are not
Christians. It means that you have to watch what you do, watch what you eat,
watch where you go and watch your occupation and source of income and a lot of
such things that culminate into basic necessities of life with the wrongly
pursuit of we enter into various sins. Jesus making it clear said,
"...You will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that
I am He, you will die in your sins." John8: 24 (NKJV). For this reasons anyone who
believes that Jesus Christ is the savior can say I am not in this world. Living
like Jesus makes you live as though you are not of this world. Consider reading
Romans8: 34 to strength your faith as a Christian who is not of this world.
Do you
believe in Jesus? Do you think that you will be or you are treated differently
by the world?
