POVERTY, the ARM of LIMITATION
THE SPIRIT OF POVERTY
Please pray this short prayer with me
O God of creation have mercy on me.
Forgive me all my sins by your grace and power
Set me aside for your goodness by the cleansing by the blood of Jesus
According to your loving kindness take away poverty from my fathers house
By the abundance of your riches grant me riches that would prosper me and my family
Search out the lands and open my eyes to see and locate my treasures and possess them; in the name of Jesus. Amen!
By the blood of Jesus erase my name from among the poor in the Mighty name of Jesus.
AMEN! AMEN!! and AMEN!!!
Poverty is a big problem as we observe world over. There are
many countries recognized as poor. Within these countries we see rich people
and poor people. The rich people can afford food and luxury without emptying
their treasuries but the poor people cannot afford their daily needs of food
what more enjoying luxury. It is not because they are lazy or they choose to be
poor, yet they remain and live in this mess.
Poverty is a plague which messes up the mind, heart and
clamps down the life of anyone plagued by it in its entirety. Poverty is the
mother of inequality and the battle to fight against it has caused the affluent
nations to forfeit life and money, yet the fight goes on and the gap of
inequality widens exponentially.
I do not want to be recognized as poor, statistically. I am
content because God is at work in the providence that has kept me going. I hate
poverty because it is the arm of limitation. Like the spider’s web, it
immobilizes anyone caught in it!
Who wants to be
poor? Only someone who has never experienced poverty wants to taste it but
majority who were born in poverty and/or victims of man made poverty, would
never dare to live in poverty. This is the reason one wakes up early, whether
one likes it or not; to get out of the house looking for jobs and doing menial
jobs. It is so odd that one detests the work environments yet encouraged to
continue to work in it by the monetary reward. The question is, who wants to be
poor? I don't and I know that you don't want to be poor either.
In the book of
Proverbs chapter 30, Agur, prayed against poverty and useless riches. He knew
what poverty could cause so he prayed against poverty. It is the wisest thing
to do, one should pray against poverty and if you are already living in
poverty, pray that God takes it away from you and bless you with abundance. It
is not a sin to refuse poverty.
We should do whatever we could to walk away from abject
poverty, however there is poverty that befalls one that is unavoidable. Examples include poverty due to wicked
political systems, wars, natural disasters and inhuman laws ad constitutions of
nations that marginalize some ethnic groups, races and more. Both the poor and
the rich should hush such systems and safe lives; while individuals on their
own should pray to God for supernatural intervention.
